Daniel Smith (I1211) [Male]
Mary Alice Smith's father was referred to as Daniel Smith who died during the Civil War in 1863. I do not think this Daniel Smith existed. Eliza's third daughter, born in 1871 is, in any case, from a different father. Information from the "The centennial history of Oregon, 1811-1912 : with notice of antecedent explorations" by Joseph Gaston, FHL 979.5 H2g v. and 979.5 H2g v.2: "Mrs. Miller is a daughter of Daniel and Eliza (Goens) Smith, both whom were natives of North Carolina, but of Pennsylvania Dutch extraction, the grandparents having moved from the Keystone state to North Carolina. The father is now deceased, having passed away in 1863..."

Family tree information from Jeremy Baker, Aug 2015 lists Daniel Smith born about 1843 in NC and died Jun 1870 in Sampson, NC. The information is unsourced.

Smith is mentioned in this marriage bond entry: Wiley Going was married to Anna Goldman January 26, 1839 in Lincoln County according to "North Carolina Marriage Bonds, 1741-1868," record 1050, bondsman: Daniel Smith, witness: H. Cansler, Clerk of Court, bond 72692.

Summary:My name is Mark DiVecchio. I am working on the genealogy for my wife and her brother. They both
match you on Ancestry DNA. My wife is Sally Ann DiVecchio. Her brother is Robert H. Clarno, Jr.

You tree goes back to Christian Seabaugh 1749-1835. Their line goes back to Christian's brother, Jacob Seabaugh 1758-1809. And then back one more generation to their parents, Christopher Seabaugh 1725-1805 and Elizabeth Neighswonger 1720-1780.

From Jacob Seabaugh, their line goes:
Margaret Seabaugh 1801-1871 married Jacob Leonard 1798-1878
Ann Leonard 1817-1894 husband unknown but thought to be Aaron Goins 1816-1860
Eliza Mahaly Goins 1833-1920 husband unknown used the surname Smith her whole life
Laura Ann Smith 1861-1930 married Fielden Baker 1854-1897
Charles Lee Baker 1894-1952 married Frances Amelia Martin 1898-1963
and then, Sally and Rob's mother:
Betty Jane "Bette" Baker 1921-2007

I've found quite a few other matches with the Seabaugh and Leonard surnames.

One link is the line is still uncertain - - I have only circumstantual proof that Ann Leonard is the mother of Eliza Mahaly Goins.

Eliza (Goins) Smith was adopted by Polly Bollinger in 1837. I don't yet know for certain who Eliza's parents are but it is the subject of ongoing research. Family documents state that her father was Goins. Her death certificate states her mother's family name was "Lenard" probably Leonard. She was known her whole life from the adoption in 1837 until her death in 1920 as Eliza Smith. I believe that Daniel Smith never existed. Eliza's three daughters are from a yet unidentified man. John Andrew (I1215) [Male]
Some family trees on ancestry show John Andrew as the father of Tamsy Andrew. As usual, these trees don't have any source information.

Other trees show Tamsy's parents as George and Elizabeth Andrew. Probably based on an 1850 census that shows George and Elizabeth Andrew with daughter Tamsey. This cannot be the Tamsy that married Richard Hall Leverton because our Tamsy was married in 1841 so would not be living with her parents in 1850.

The name 'Clarno' was derived from the name of the first permanent white settler in this county of 'Green', one Andrew Clarno, who came though this area in 1827 and returned again with his family in 1832 to establish residence here. The postoffice, the small village and the township in which the villiage is located all bear the name 'Clarno'. No living descendants of the original settlers now are in the immediate area."
