Pastor Jewel Lyle Bramblet passed away June 15, 2006 at 5:33AM at the age of 88. Pastor Bramblet was born on July 15, 1917 in Maxwell, Montana and was raised in the agricultural area known as ‘The Ridge' above Lewiston, Idaho.
Called to the ministry at the age of 17, he graduated from the Multnomah School of the Bible and Whitworth College and attended Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary. In 1944 he moved to Pasco, Washington where he founded the First Baptist Church of Pasco and met and married Betty Jo Champie of Ellensburg, Washington. In 1951 he moved with his family to Los Angeles Ca. to attend the LABTS and to found the Norwalk Baptist Church. In 1958 he was called to the Clover Creek Baptist Church in Tacoma, WA, where, with his brother Jim Bramblet, he founded the still thriving Tacoma Baptist School. In 1963 he was called to Whitney Baptist of Boise, ID. During his 12 years at Whitney he constructed the new building currently in use to this day. In 1975, Pastor and Mrs. Bramblet moved to Opportunity, WA, where they founded the Opportunity Baptist Church. After several years of semi-retirement during which they assisted the Baptist Home Mission Board, they moved to North Bend, WA where they founded the Grace Baptist Church. He then retired and moved to Tacoma, WA where he remained active in the ministry, both preaching and teaching. He was a regular Sunday School teacher at Mt. Tahoma Baptist Church in Lakewood, WA and also taught church planning at the Northwest Baptist Seminary.

Glenn William Baker, age 87, of Dallas and formerly of Cramerton, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Robin Johnson House, Dallas. He was born in Cramerton and was a resident of Cramerton for 84 years and was the son of the late Henry and Rosa Boyles Baker. Mr. Baker was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in WWII from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of the 3rd Army under the command of General George Patton. He landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 and received a medal for his courageous service. He later served in Britain, France and Germany and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was very proud of his military service. He was a former supervisor at the Mays Plant of Burlington Industries, Cramerton, Pharr Yarns and retired as a supervisor with Dixie Yarn at Rex #2 Plant, Ranlo. He was a member of Life Church of Cramerton and held various positions within Life Church. He was a member of various Senior Citizens Clubs, a member of the Blinded Veterans Organization and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family would like to give a very special thanks for the loving care of the Robin Johnson House and the residents of the Dallas High School Apartments. Mr. Baker is survived by two sons, Glenn Lamar Baker and wife Rachel of Belmont, Ronnie Wayne Baker and wife Sue of Conyers, Georgia; one sister, Betty Terres of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Deborah Baker of Belmont, David Baker and wife Andrian of Gastonia, Rhonda Harrison and husband Ricky of Douglasville, Georgia, Mark Baker of Conyers, Georgia; four great grandchildren, Savannah Bartlett, Rebecca Bartlett, Zachary Baker, Ayden Baker; niece, Beverly Morgan and husband Eddie of Dublin, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. Friday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia and at other times at the home of Lamar and Rachel Baker, 408 Armstrong Drive, Belmont, North Carolina. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday at The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Oxendine and Rev. Paul Potter officiating. Entombment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with military rites by the WWII Last Man Club. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 65 years, Ruth Brewer Baker; brother, Rev.
