1955 DC, 80y, Magna, Salt Lake, UT. Widowed. Wife Eva Palmieri Palmieri. The cause of death was listed as "general arteriosclerosis". The place of death was listed "In canal at approx. 8850 West 2400 South". The date of death is lised as "Approx 9-4-1955. I wonder what that means. Reported by Carl Palmieri. Carl would be the son born in 1912. Probably the one known as Carlo. Almost seems like Pasquale was visiting Carl in Magna for about a week and died out working in the field. ???? His body was removed to Price, UT for burial. With the wife's name written as "Eva Palmieri Palmieri", I would guess that this is Eufemia Palmieri, his first wife and Carl's mother.
Diana Archer listed cause of death as "Accidendal Drowning" but the death certificate does not list an accident as cause of death, it lists "general arteriosclerosis" but "unattended medically". An autopsy was performed.

She was always fond of discussing family connections, and I sat with her many times in order to try and document as much as possible. I am confident that all of the information that she provided was 100% accurate.   I also sat with my Aunt Julie and Uncle Vince on their last visit to the States sometime in the late 1980's and took a video of them discussing all of these family ties. While my ex wife decided to get rid of this video, I had the foresight to review the tape many times and get this documentation written down. All of this information is related directly to my Grandmother's side of the family. So, my Grandmother's lineage, which I have previously provided and is now on Ancestry, is taken directly from these conversations."

1893 birth record #23 from Apricena, Foggia. Accessed on the ancestry.com tree posted by kroll911. Tom wrote: "As you can see from La Mia Strada, and from what my grandmother told me, the shepherds would move their flocks a good ways south from the mountains from sometime in the fall until early spring. This was due to the fact the grasses that the sheep would graze on around St.. Eufemia  would be covered with snow during this time. My grandfathers parents went to Apricena because it was near the Adriatic and it had a lot of grazing lands unaffected by winter weather. They had paisans there and along the way. It was about 120 miles on foot driving the sheep so I’m sure it took them maybe several weeks. When they would stop at paisans along the way they would often stay for a few days to visit."

1950 article in the Pittsburgh Press: Family Re-united after 40 years. Angelo came to the US at the age of 15y.

email from Tom Gargaro, Oct 2009: "Yes, my grandfather ( Angelo Santo Gargaro) was Vincenzo's oldest brother. I can share a little story about them, hopefully not boring all of you. Angelo was born in St. Eufemia in 1893. He emmigrated to the USA in 1909 at age 16. His brother Vincenzo was born in 1910, thus my grandfather had left Italy before Vincenzo was born. As all of their brothers and sisters were brought to the USA by their father Isadore (typically one every several years), there came a time after 1921 when all of Vincenzo's siblings had left Italy. Being only 11, Uncle Vincenzo stayed in Italy until both of his parents had died (1941). At this time, he wanted desperately to come to the States to be with all of his brothers and sisters, but was refused due to political issues between Italy and the USA. He and Julie decided to move to Australia instead, where many folks from St. Eufemia had already relocated. Remember, this was 1941, Vincenzo was 31 years old and still had never met his oldest brother Angelo. As a side note, I can remember my Aunt Julie (as we all called her) relating that once she left St. Eufemia for Australia, it took Uncle Vince another year to get through the administrative obstacles in order to join his wife in Melbourne.
Finally, in 1958 (I think), Vincenzo and Juliet arranged a vacation to America, where he met for the first time his brother. Angelo was 65 years old, and Vincenzo was 48. The local newspaper, the McKees Rocks Gazette, ran a front page article on this happy reunion, including a picture of the two brothers. Vince was so touched by being near all of his siblings, he convinced Juliet to say, which they did until 1970., when they returned permanently to Melbourne to be with Juliet's family. Just a cool, but true, story."
