What a coincidence that you would decide to contact me while she's here!! I really don't have much on Julia's side, I'm sure just info that you already have. However, I'd love to see what you have put together. Is there a web site where I can see your information? If not, what would be the best method for getting it into my hands? Look forward to talking to you, Tom."

DINGWALL-THOMASON, RUTH Surrounded by her loving family, Ruth Dingwall-Thomason passed away peacefully in her beautiful home on January 16, 2011, after enjoying 91 healthy and productive years. Ruth is survived by her husband, Chester "Chet" Thomason Sr., her brother Carl Murray, her daughters Nan McGraw and Joyce Dingwall, her son Harry Dingwall, her grandchildren Garrett Kai, Stuart McGraw, Nikki Slocum-Bradley, Doug Dingwall, Ann Grimm, Carolyn Dingwall and Sylvia McClelland, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Alice Clark, and her sons Paul Dingwall and Bruce Dingwall. Ruth was born November 15, 1919 in Price, Utah. She moved to Salt Lake City after graduating from high school at 16, and began working as a secretary. Moving to San Diego during the 1940s, she raised her children and later worked as an executive secretary. Over a period of over 50 years, Ruth Dingwall-Thomason brought her wise spiritual and psychological teachings to her devoted students at The House of Dingwall, in a program she called The Art of Creative Living. She helped people to feel more free, genuine, and connected to their spirituality. She "walked the walk," as she liked to say, and she was dignified, kind, and gentle, and loving to all of those lucky enough to know her and learn from her. Ruth received her Ph.D. in psychology from La Jolla University and she was an ordained minister with the Universal Church of the Master. Private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mount Helix Park Foundation (PO Box 2733, La Mesa, CA 91943) would be appreciated.

email from Ron Amato to Fiore diPietrantonio, Oct 2009: "Fiore, first of all let me illustrate our connection. Your grandfather Fiore and Carla's (del Papa) grandfather Luigi were brothers. My grandmother Teodora was Luigi's oldest child. Luigi was my great grandfather. All four of the Dipietrantonio brothers (Luigi, Fiore, Raffeale, and Filippo) made several trips each between Sant'Eufemia and Colorado. In 1920 Filippo escorted my grandmother's sister to Colorado and within a short time the entire DiPietrantonio family moved to Australia except for Luigi who
moved his family to Boston. My Grandmother who was married at the time stayed here in Colorado.
Most of the information I have concerning family in Australia originally came from a family tree drawn using information supplied by Vincenzina (DiGiovine) Borelli, your grandfather's sister Congetta's family, and your grandfather's brother Filippo's family."

I think they lived on 215 Main Street. West Aliquippa is a great little town. You may have known of my  cousins there. They were much older than me. ( I was born in 1956) Joe, Gino, Mary and Angie were closer to my fathers age. I looked forward to seeing their children, who were my age.  My father would also take me to Mckees Rocks to visit his cousins. My Aunt Antionette owned a little grocery store in W. Aliquippa. I dont know the name of the store, it occupied the first floor apartment of her building. Gino, at one time owned a bar or a deli. I know he would make his homemade sausage. Angie owned a beauty parlor in West Aliquippa. I had cousins in Aliquippa until recently. Mary and Vince Fricano still lived there. I understand that they have since moved to assisted living. I feel certain that your Dad must have known my father. It amazes me how the families managed to stay connected all those years ago. Today we tend to live in our own little worlds. 1864 SPA transcribed birth record #76
1869 SPA Status Animarum lists as living with (grandfather) Emiddio Iannacchione (1800) and his son (Benedetto's uncle) Francesco (1844) and Francesco's wife Clara di Sanza (1846), Ref 395. Via Sotto La Chiesa (both of his parents must have been dead).
1886 SPA transcribed marriage record #1
1888 SPA transcribed birth record #4 of son Amico Fedele, 24y.
1891 12 Mar NY arrival, 26y, (pre-EI), laborer, travelled with Oreste Gatti, Gaetano Frazzini, Fabiano Gatti, Vincenzo Carlini and Achille Carlini.
1898 Oct 19 EI arrival, 34y, going to Paterson , NJ, previously in the US from 1891 to 1898, travelled with wife Gabriela and two children, Teresina and Amicantonio.
Posting in Guestbook by John Anthony Tannachion, Sep 2009: "Original surname seems to have been Iannacchione. Benedetto Iannacchione emigrated in mid-1890s and married Gabriela Carlini who came over a few years later. By the time their son, Anthony Amos, had children the surname morphed to Tannac(c)hione to Tannachion. These San Pietroites settled, not in PA or NM, but in Paterson, NJ where there was lots of work in the Silk factories."
1900 census, Paterson, NJ, 35y, born Nov 1864, married 13 years, immigrated 1899.

email from John A. Tannachion, Oct 2009: "My sister has been doing most of the research, but I found a link to a Family Tree:
http://community.webshots.com/photo/fullsize/1207339906057601773PFcktv
Don't know who put it together, but it shows Barbara and Gasparo as parents of Gabriela Carlini. There is also a set of gravestones from the family plot near Paterson that shows one for Gabriela and Benedetto with an 1864 birth date. Gabriela must have lied about her age, since the gravestone shows her as born in 1860.  Here's the link:
http://good-times.webshots.com/album/198451488APFVFx
Thanks for the info.  My sister is giving me access to her Geni.com account, so I will hopefully get a little more into this.  We never knew that SPA was the family hometown.  In fact my sister thought it was Pietrasanta in northern Tuscany.  But we couldn't figure out why they sailed out of Napoli."
