Oliver J. "Moe" Morelli, 83, of Latrobe, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Latrobe, a son of the late Dominico and Carmella (Settefratti) Morelli. Moe was a lifelong member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe, and had been employed by Latrobe Brewing Co. with 42 years of service, having retired in 1988. He belonged to Union No. 144 Bottlers. He was a 1944 graduate of Latrobe High School, and a World War II veteran, having served in the Army. He also belonged to the Fraternal Order of Tony Angelo Eagles Aerie 01188. Moe was an avid gardener, finding great joy in tending to his large garden, which was well known by many. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Litiza Blasiole and Mary E. Mattingly; and three brothers, Raymond P., Anthony S. and George Morelli. He is survived by his children, Patricia A. Krynicky and her husband, Greg, of Norvelt, and Anthony J. "Dago" Morelli and his wife, Karen, of Derry; a sister, Dorinda M. Morelli, his caregiver, with whom he made his home; six grandchildren, Jamie Roitman and husband, Mitch, of Chicago, Ill., Glenn Donahey and wife, Becca, of Wilmington, Del., Meghan B. Wasil and husband, Mark, of Mt. Pleasant, Heidi Giordan and husband, Mark, of Bradenville, Sarah Morelli, of Derry, and Anthony O. Morelli, of Derry; his stepgranddaughter, Christy Cravner, of Derry; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Military services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with American Legion Post 515 and VFW Post 3414. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Church, Latrobe, with the Rev. Daniel C. Mahoney as celebrant. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Unity Township. DOYLESTOWN -- Gwendolyn R. "Gwen" Edel, 55, of Doylestown, entered into new life with her Heavenly Father on Friday morning, July 11, 2008, at Akron General Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 16, at 11 a.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Orrville, with the Revs. Ronald Turek and Paul Wysocki as celebrants. Cremation will take place following the Mass.

Friends may call at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak St., Orrville, on Tuesday evening, July 15, from 5-7:30, with a rosary service at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Agnes Catholic Church, 541 Spring St., Orrville 44667; and to the American Heart Association, Great Rivers Affiliate, P.O. Box 163549, Columbus 43216-3549.

Gwen was born April 13, 1953, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Carl and Viola M. (Mirabella) Palombi, and was a graduate of Ogden High School and later attended college for two years.

She was employed at Cleveland Clinic Wooster as a records technician and previously was employed at Dunlap Community Hospital, Orrville. When she lived in Utah, she had worked at the Utah State Tax Commission for 10 years.

She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Orrville, and was united in marriage with Eugene T. "Gene" Edel at St. Agnes, on Sept. 26, 2001. He survives. Gwen enjoyed crocheting and making quilts.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and dear friend, who will be missed by all who shared her life.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Eugene "Gene" Edel, is a son, Anthony Mansfield of Orrville; a daughter, Michele Edwards of Orrville; a stepson, Jeremy Edel of Traverse City, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, John (Tammy) Palombi of Mississippi and Mike (Irene) Palombi of Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joseph Palombi; and a grandson, Fistin Edwards.
