"Louis M. 'Gino' DiGiovine 81, of Deltona, Florida, formerly of Monaca, passed on to everlasting life on Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was Catholic by faith.

Born in West Aliquippa, a son of the late Camillo and Caterina (Deltondo) DiGiovine, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary Wilma (Comby) DiGiovine; a son, James Joseph, and a brother, Angelo.

He is survived by his three sons, Gene Michael (Kimberly) DiGiovine, Brian Allen DiGiovine (Paddy Dull), and Curt Anthony (Mary Grace) DiGiovine, and several grandchildren.

Gino was a United States Air Force veteran who served as a Senior Electrician. He completed tours in Shemya, Alaska, and Biloxi, Mississippi. He was a retired steelworker from LTV, formerly J&L Steel.

Per his request, there will be no public viewing or funeral service.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care of our dad during his final days."

email from son, Brian DiGiovine, Feb 2016: "Great site and great work. My grandfather was Camillo DiGiovine. My uncle was Angelo, he married My aunt Nina Pelosi. My grandfather lived at 115 Main Street, West Aliquipa. Camillo also had a son name Louis ( Gino), my father. Dad had a younger brother( James Joseph DiGiovine) that died as an infant from pneumonia. My father had a fourth son, James Joseph DiGiovine, that died in 1987, you have him listed on your site. My Grandmother, Caterina del Tondo DiGiovine often told me of our relatives in Australia. I was fortunate enough to go to Sydney, Australia in 1978, but was there only a short time, and unable to look up any possible relatives. I have a few pictures of my grandfather, grandmother, uncle and father as a group , in sepia if you'd like. Thanks for all your hard work."

From "Grit, Smoke and Steam" by James J. Messina, edited by Charles D. Messina: Jim was talking about his "gang"members: "Piss, whose real name was Freddy Dipetro, had a brother, John and a sister named Ann. His parents were still alive. Piss was more of an unadventurous kin and never in a hurry for hasty decisions. He was a cautious type. Like the candy and tobacco parcel we stole from a delivery truck one time, for instance. He was leery about being an accessory in taking the box. Maybe some witness would point the blame to us kids. Our response was that he worried too much and needed to enjoy the free ride."

His father was Rocco Frazzini and his mother was Chiara Tonti. However, I have no other information than this, just a picture that you can find attached.

I was very suprised when I noticed that the picture was taken in same period and in the same school as Benilda Frazzini. I think they were from the same generation, born in 1912. Were they related?

Vincenzo was killed in action December 9th, 1944 in Germany in the Battle of the Hurtgen Forrest. "
