Leona E. DeSanzo Mitchell, 96, of Beaver Falls, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Providence Health Care Center.

She was born April 9, 1918, in Beaver Falls, and was the daughter of the late Bert and Violet Straley DeSanzo. Leona had a great love for animals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Mitchell; three brothers, Robert, Bert, and William DeSanzo; two sisters, Bertha Mannerino and Florine Franzini and a grandson, Johnnie Mitchell.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Mary Mitchell, Darlington Twp., and Robert and Madeline Mitchell, AZ.; five grandchildren, Robert, Tara, Frankie, Halie Mitchell and Leeanne O'Brien; also a great-grandson, Cayden.

Friends will be received today from 3 p.m. until time of blessing service at 8 p.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp., www.gabauerluttonfuneralhome.com. Deacon Harry DeNome will officiate.

Private interment will follow in St Mary Cemetery.

Leona's family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at Providence for all the love and care given to her during her stay.
