Colomba Frazzini (I12194) [Female]
1891 reconstructed birth record of daughter, Pia.
I cannot find a birth or marriage record for Colomba. She was possibly married in 1890 and the records are missing from the microfilms for that year.

email from Kristen Bins-Castronovo, Jun 2011: "Well, I asked my Grandma (Anne Labate Stevens) about Columba Frazzini and she has no knowledge of her name or just can't remember at age 85. She said Frazzini does ring a bell, but she is not sure why. Also, she says the name Di Iullo pops up in her head a lot. Actually before my research, she told me Antonette's maiden name was DiIullo, but as I began my research it didn't add up... other documents and family sources said otherwise as it being Musilli, she then seemed to remember it as Musilli, as confirmed with both of her sisters passing.
My only guess about the DiIullo name would come from a Pia Mussilli, who is listed on your website as Antonettes sister. In my research, I found Pia to be married to a Louis DiIullo and I made note of this because this family lived in Smokey Hollow at the same address as my great grandmother (407 Harrison St.), therefore, I tried to make that connection before, assuming there had to be a family connection. I tried to find an obituary for Pia to see if I could learn more, but could not find it. My grandmother remembers no aunts, uncles or cousins on her mothers side. I don't think she ever really knew much history to begin with since her mother came over so very young. I'll keep looking though!!"

email from Wilberta DiVencenzo, Jun 2011: "Antoinette Scolastica Musilli Labate's death notice says she was born 16 Feb 1897, the daughter of Nicola Musilli and Colomba Frazzini."

IRMA MARY DI IULLO FERRANTE
“Together Again”
GIRARD – Irma Mary Di Iullo Ferrante, 91, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012, at Omni Manor.

She was born Jan. 11, 1921, in San Pietro Avellana, Italy, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Carmela Colaizzi Di Iullo.

Irma arrived in the United States in 1927, and lived on the east side of Youngstown.

She graduated from East High School and lived in Girard since 1950.

She was a member of St. Rose Church, Mount Carmel Society and was past president of Mt. Carmel Society.

She made pizza on Fridays for the church, volunteered at St. Rose School Cafeteria and worked bingo for many years.

Irma was an excellent seamstress who helped make the altar cloths for St. Rose Church and also helped her husband at Lee’s Shoe Repair in Girard. She was a kind, soft-spoken, loving wife, a devoted mother, and wonderful grandmother. She was an important and central part of the family and her house was always “open” to family and friends. She taught her children the value of a family and what it means to be an Italian. She loved to be surrounded by the family at dinners and excelled in cooking and baking, having many of the Italian cultures and values in her home.

“Her family was blessed to have wonderful and caring parents, who live on forever in our hearts.”

Irma is survived by her children, Don (Donna) Ferrante of Uniontown, Anita (George) Spatar of Girard and Pat Cronin of Mentor; grandchildren Jeff (Leslie) Spatar, Rob (Wendi) Spatar, Anthony (Sherrie) Spatar and David Cronin; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Taylor, Nicholas, Sophia and Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oreste “Lee” Ferrante, whom she married Sept. 6, 1943; infant twins, Mary and David, who died shortly after birth; sisters Helen Ross, Gina Mazzocco and Mary Revis; and brothers Frank Di Iullo and Albert Di Ullo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Church, with calling hours one hour prior, from 10 a.m.until time of Mass at the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.

The family would like to thank the staff at Omni Manor Healthcare for their excellent care.

email from son, Don Ferrante, Feb 2014: "My mother, Irma Ferrante (DiIullo), was born in San Pietro Avellana in 1921. My grandmother was Carmela Coliazzi. My grandfather was Pasquale DiIullo. They immigrated to Youngstown, Ohio when my mom was 6 years old. My Aunt Gina Mazzocco lived in SPA until her death."
