Sex offender stabbed, left for dead, survives
Erie Times-News
BUTLER -- An Erie man was nearly killed Thursday night after being stabbed nine times and left for dead.
Butler police said an off-duty policeman found Tony Orlando Frazzini, 39, of Erie, bleeding profusely from his neck and chest. He was found on a sidewalk near the corner of Seventh Avenue and West New Castle Street at 10:42 p.m. Thursday.
According to police, Frazzini identified Lerhonda Anne Starnes, 42, of North East, as his attacker.
Police said Frazzini told officers Starnes attacked him because he is a registered sex offender. Frazzini's name appears on the Pennsylvania Megan's Law Web site.
Officers arrested Starnes near where the attack took place. Police charged her with attempted murder and aggravated assault. She was arraigned by a local district judge and sent to Butler County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bond.
Frazzini was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He is listed in fair condition.
Detectives are still investigating.

email from son, John Arfman, Oct 2011: "She was born March 7, 1920 in Old Forge
PA. Her name as we know it was Lois Vivian DelVecchio. She died on June 20, 1995. There are early indications that her parents actually named her Luisa, but she was known as Lois throughout her life. She was the youngest child of Philip and Eufemia. She went to nursing school in the Scranton area and enlisted in the US Navy in about 1942. She served for a total of about 17 years with a couple of year break at the end of WWII and prior to the outbreak of the Korean conflict. On May 15, 1959 she married John Merrill Arfman who was from Brooklyn and Roslyn NY. John and Lois had two children, me (John M. Arfman Jr.) born March 7, 1960 and Philip George Arfman, born March 7, 1962. I know it's a little strange, but my brother and I and our mother all had the same birthday. My father liked to joke of his "unplanned perfectionism". My father, John, died on June 15th, 1993."

Natale Lusetti,
Ely Pioneer,
Dies at Home
ELY, July 22.—Natale Lusetti, 77, one of White Pine county's pioneers, died in his home in Lane City Friday morning following an illness of seven years. Mr. Lusetti was born Dec. 20, 1874, at Novara, Italy, a son of Theresa and Vincent Lusetti. He attended the schools in Italy and came to the United States in 1894 at the age of 20. He was married to Agnes Gaspardo in Kimberly. The couple first lived in Kimberly, where Mr. Lusetti had mining interests. He later worked at the Ruth Mines and moved to Lane City about 40 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Lusetti had lived in Lane City, where they operated the Lane City Dairy, since that time. Lane City had a population of approximately 10,000 at the time the couple moved there. It was then the largest city in Nevada, and was known throughout the west for horse racing and other sports. Mr. Lusetti ("grew up") with this part of Nevada, and through the years he had made a host of friends. He became a citizen of the United States while a young man and was very proud of his adopted country. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church. Survivors, besides his widow, include two daughters, Mrs. Mario Venturino of Lane City and Mrs. Everett B. Muir of Salt Lake City; two sons, Vincent Lusetti of East Ely and Richard Lusetti of Reno; two sisters who live in California; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. Rosary was said Monday at 8 p. m. at the Wilson-Bates chapel. Mass was said at 10 a. m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic church. Father O'Reilly conducted the services. Per Raffaele's great-granddaughter: "There's a story that Raffaele came to the U.S. in the late 1800s with 2 friends - Filippo Pantalone and Michele Fattore. The 3 are said to have committed a crime and spent some time in jail. Michele Fattore died during this time and Raffaele kept a promise to his friend by returning to Italy to marry his widow Dominica DiNardo. I can't help but wonder what crime was involved." Note: Diane later found that Michele Fattore died in SEaM in 1899.

From the LDS microfilms information sent to me by Diane Rogers: "August 22, 1888 - Birth of Fulgenzio Del tondo. Father Mariano age 38 and mother Caterina D'Amico."
1883 SEaM digital marriage index #2.
1896 8 Jun - Possible - EI arrival, could not access the manifest on the EI site. Text manifest shows ages 45y (1851 )and that he travelled with Angelo Palmieri 32y (1864) and Diodato Palmieri 41y (1855). I was able to access the manifest on ancestry.com. Does not give any useful information.
1924 SOI application of son, Fugenzio.
1988 obituary in the Beaver County Times of son, Antonio. Listed as Mark.
From the "Brief History of Sant'Eufemia a Maiella", Mariano del Tondo is listed as being amount the first citizens to emigrate to North America about 1878 (along with Francesco diGiovine and Francesco Frattore). Mariano and Francesco Frattore were from S. Giacomo.

Immigration: : 10 Feb 1891
1857 15 Apr - from Diane del Tondo Rogers. She has a birth index which shows this DOB.
1891 10 Feb NY arrival on the Scotia, 32y. Travelled with 7 other men from SEaM: Teodoro diPietrantonio, Carmine Pallone, Giovanni Palmieri, Leonardo Palmieri, Giovanni diPietrantonio, Raffaele diGiovine and Raffaele diNardo. A line by line search of the 10 pages of the manifest of the Scotia did not locate any other SEaM surnames.
2011 Nov - Michele may have some connection to Raffaele del Tondo (RIN #12594) and Fillippo Pantalone (RIN #11366). Per Raffaele's great-granddaughter, Diane del Tondo Rogers: "There's a story that Raffaele came to the U.S. in the late 1800s with 2 friends - Filippo Pantalone and Michele Fattore. The 3 are said to have committed a crime and spent some time in jail. Michele Fattore died during this time and Raffaele kept a promise to his friend by returning to Italy to marry his widow Dominica DiNardo. I can't help but wonder what crime was involved." Note: Diane later found that Michele Fattore died in SEaM in 1899 - see below.
From the LDS microfilms information sent to me by Diane Rogers: "December 17, 1884 - Marriage of Michele Archangelo Fattore (age 27) and Domenica Philippa DiNardo (age 17). Michele is the son of Felice Fattore and Mariangela Pantalone."
SEaM death record sent to me by Diane Rogers. Shows that he actually died in SEaM. 1899 4 May at 32y.
email from Diane Rogers, Aug 2013: "I have 2 other sources for Michele's date of birth. He was 27 when he married Domenica in 1884. I also have the birth index reference which I think says April 15, 1857."
1899 SEaM digital birth record #25 of son, Michele, fu.
