email from Jerri Frazzini Bottomly, Jun 2010: "Lucy, who died of cancer, married to Tony Zarlengo, a high-profile criminal lawyer in Denver. Tony was a widower for quite a few years after Lucy died. Their children: Richard, a lawyer who committed suicide (don't know when). Don't know about his children and think his wife's name was Pat, but not sure; Betty who was married to a Denver judge named Horan. Betty lives in Arvada, CO, a suburb of Denver; Felicita (Philly) who married a man named Robbie. Philly had two other daughters as well; Vincent, 66, is also a lawyer and he and his wife live in the upscale suburb of Belmar. His wife is a banker, and they have no children."

email from granddaughter, Karen Horan, Apr 2012: "I came across the Frazzini genealogy page this evening. I'm Betty (Zarlengo) Horan's daughter. Betty is Lucile (Frazzini) and Tony Zarlengo's daughter. I wanted to follow up with a couple of clarifications to the information currently posted under Lucia "Lucille" Frazzini's entry: Lucy and Tony had four children. The eldest son was Richard. He and his wife Pat had three children. Richard died in the late-90s, and Pat lives in Denver. Betty Zarlengo (my mom) married Joseph R. Horan. He was a banker (president of Arvada State Bank) and very active community leader in Arvada, CO. He died from heart disease at the age of 39, leaving Betty as a widow with six children. His father was Denver Judge, Niel Horan. Betty continues to live in Arvada. Felicita (Filly) Zarlengo married William (Bill) Robbie. They have five children. Filly and Bill live in Colorado Springs. Lucy and Tony's youngest son, Vincent Zarlengo (a lawyer and an accountant), and his wife Peggy (a retired banker) did not have children and now divide their time between Denver and Arizona. I can provide more details, if you'd like. For now, I mainly wanted to clarify a couple of inaccuracies. Thanks...and thanks for providing all of this family information. It's amazing."

TONY ZARLENGO, LONGTIME DEFENSE LAWYER
Rocky Mountain News (CO) August 16, 1994 Author: ROMEL HERNANDEZ
Then there's the story about Tony Zarlengo turning poet to use the killing of a pooch to help get a murderer and robber convicted. The 1930s case involved the murder of a druggist - and the killing of his pet dog - during a holdup. During his closing statement, Zarlengo, then a young assistant district attorney, moved the jury to tears as he read a sappy poem about the loyalty of man's best friend.
It was a story he loved retelling over the years. "They used to kid him he was the only guy who could get someone the death penalty for killing a dog," said his son, Vince Zarlengo. Anthony Francis Zarlengo, defense attorney of the 1940s and '50s and patriarch of one of Denver's most respected families, died Sunday at his north Denver home. Mr. Zarlengo was 91. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, W. 29th Ave. at Federal Blvd. Entombment will be at Tower of Memories Mausoleum. Mr. Zarlengo was born June 14, 1903, in north Denver. He was one of nine children of Italian immigrants George and Elizabeth Zarlengo. He attended Mount Carmel Grade School, Sacred Heart High School and Regis University. He received his law degree from the University of Denver in 1928. He married Lucile Frazzini in 1929. She died in 1974. Mr. Zarlengo was a prosecutor with the Denver district attorney's office, rising to chief deputy before leaving after 13 years. "He always took the side of the underdog," said former federal judge Fred White. "He was a man of total integrity who always won his cases fair and square." It was during the 1940s that Mr. Zarlengo joined with two other lawyers to found Dickerson, Morrisey and Zarlengo, Denver's pre-eminent criminal-defense law firm for 20 years. Mr. Zarlengo was involved in politics throughout his career and was active in the city's Italian-American groups. He received numerous awards for his legal career and public service. Mr. Zarlengo semiretired 20 years ago, but he continued going to his office regularly until he fell ill in April. Survivors include two sons, Richard and Vincent, both of Denver; two daughters, Betty Horan of Arvada and Felicita Robbie of Colorado Springs; a sister, Eleanor DeCicco of Denver; two brothers, Roland and Arthur, both of Denver; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Contributions: Mother Cabrini Shrine, 20189 Cabrini Road, Golden, 80401, or charity of choice.

Lewis Frazzini (I1300) [Male] b. 7 May 1933 Denver, CO - d. 10 Feb 2012 Las Vegas, Clark, NV
Occupation: US Army
email from sister, Jerri Frazzini Bottomly, Mar 2012: "I can't remember if I told you my brother Lewis Frazzini passed away on February 10 at the age of 78. He had had Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) for many years, and it got worse in the last year or so resulting in several hospitalizations. He died in Las Vegas, Nevada where he has lived for the past eight years. He had a home in Denver, he owned several condominums, and a meat packing business there, which for the last eight years has been run by one of his employees."

OBITUARY FOR LEWIS FRAZZINI (Written by Jerry Frazzini Bottomly)
Lewis Frazzini, 78, passed away on February 10, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada . Lewis was born on May 7, 1933 to parents Nicholas and Gwendolyn Frazzini and was a life-long resident of the communities of North Denver and Greenwood Village in Denver, Colorado. He was the owner of Modern Meat Packing Company in Denver for many years. He was also a US Army veteran, having served at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri during the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bernadine; his daughter, Sherri Bogart; a granddaughter, Heather Smith; and a grandson, Christopher Lewis Bankston.
He is survived by his wife, Sharyn Keyser; his daughters, Brenda Snowden and Jolene Frazzini; and a granddaughter, Nicole Snowden, all of Denver. He is also survived by a sister, Geraldine Bottomly, of Seattle, Washington.
Lewis was the consummate businessman, and built successfully upon the business his father, Nick Frazzini, started during the 1940s. His company was often a donor of meat to a number of charitable institutions throughout the Denver metropolitan area.
"Lew," as he was known by his friends, never knew a stranger, and was an inveterate conversationalist, engaging passersby and others in talking about the affairs of the day and other topics. He had a fun-loving personality and often caused a group to convulse in laughter from something he said or did. He will be missed by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his memory to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 502 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105. A memorial service will be held at the Olinger Funeral Home on a date yet to be determined.

Jerri and I traded hundreds of emails and many phone calls over the past 10 years. On my first trip to Denver, she gave me a lot of pointers and names of people and places to see. She will be remembered by sampietresi all over the world.

From http://funerals.coop/geraldine-jerri-frazzini-bottomly/ :
Geraldine (Jerri) Frazzini Bottomly
Jerri was born in Denver to Nick and Gwen Frazzini where she spent a happy childhood with her parents, her brother and an extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. She was special to all of them, and let them know in many ways that they were special to her. Jerri graduated from Ottawa University of Kansas, where she majored in English and drama.
A career-oriented woman with many talents, Jerri balanced parenting and home life with her professional career. After teaching in elementary schools in Baltimore and suburban Denver, she worked in the central administrative offices of the Jefferson County Schools (Colorado) and then the Seattle Public Schools where she served as the executive secretary to many superintendents. She became the first Ombudsman for the Seattle Public Schools, a position she held until she retired.
Jerri was a prominent member of the National Association of Educational Secretaries, and also sang in church choirs, taught Sunday School and volunteered at both Seattle First Baptist Church and Virginia Mason Hospital. She loved her career, and she loved her volunteer work. All the organizations she worked with benefitted from her considerable organizational skills, her dedication, and her warm and welcoming manner. Jerri made everyone around her feel good.
Jerri is survived by her husband Forbes Bottomly, daughter Kathy Bong, and grandsons Kevin and Roger Bong. Her parents and brother preceded her in death. Services will be held at Seattle First Baptist Church on Sunday, December 23 at 1:00 p.m.
Jerri inspired the many people she met in her life, and they returned her love. She will be greatly missed.

Stephen Frederick Frazzini (I1316) [Male] b. 1947
2003 Sep 17 email from Steve Frazzini: "I am Prospero Frazzini's grandson. My father, Bert, was Prospero's younger son through his wife, Emma Nestor. Both my dad and his older brother, named Nestor after his mother's birth name, died in 1990. There are four of us in this generation - my sister, Susan, and two cousins, Don and Karen, who were Nestor's children.Today I happened to come across your materials on the Frazzini family on the internet. Some of what was on the site, such as that my grandfather died of a "broken heart" in prison, are what I was told over the years, but much on the web site I had never heard before. The prison mug shot was fascinating - definitely my grandfather, from pictures we have of him. One curiosity - one newspaper article you quoted talked about him having a son and young daughter. My father, the younger son, would have gotten a kick out of that.

After my grandfather's death, my father and brother were raised in Denver by their mother, Emma, who was of German ancestry. She broke off ties with the Catholic Church and Italian side of the family after her husband's death and raised her two sons in a German household. She supported herself and her two sons by selling insurance policies. Dad and Nestor stayed in Denver until the late 1950s, when first my father and then Nestor moved their families to northern California. Don, Karen, and Sue still live on the west coast, but I came east to go to college in the 1960's and never moved back. My grandmother stayed in Denver until sometime in the 1960s. After she became unable to live on her own, she came to live with us in Calif, but she wanted to return to Denver, which she did, and she lived there in a nursing home until her death.

I would love to get copies of the newspaper articles and other materials about my grandfather and his family in Denver. Where does Prospero fit into your family history? As far as I know, none of his descendants through Emma have ever done what you did for the family tree. I, at least, have basically been cut off from any relations on my paternal grandfather's side. I don't think any of my generation have been back to Italy."
