Cesare and Degna's daughter Mary, the Banker, said in the article you have on your website that she went to a college in Rome that was only for royal families and that "My mother was descended from a family of barons, the Cioffi family from the Province of Campamosti." Campamosti must be Campobasso and I did not see any evidence in the SPA films that the Cioffis were barons, but the d'Alenas were."

(And then, my son Joseph shares the name Leonard as his middle name, after my father.) Leonardo was the only grandfather my dad knew. My dad said that Leonardo would take him down the cellar and show him how to test the wine to see if it was ready. Only my dad, no one else! I am told that Leonardo would give his wife, Emilia, Sundays off from cooking and do the cooking himself. Leonardo and Emila had three children together. email from Wendy MacFarland, Dec 2010: " Rosa Bacci (1887-1917) was the first wife of Amico "John" Buzzelli (1887-1936).  She and John married in 1906 and had three children.  Flora(who married David Mariani), Rudy and Augustine (b1913). After Rosa died in 1917, John married Giroloma Frazzini Sozio. Together they had 5 children.  Rosie, Grace, Orie, Anna and Joseph. They all grew up in Ellwood City.  I am not too familiar with Rosa Bacci, but I can ask my cousin who is a grandchild of Augustine. This side of the family inter mixes a few times with my Frazzini side.  For example: Giroloma was a Frazzini.  Augustine Buzzelli married Attillo Antinossi, Manualla Antinossi's brother.  Manuella Antinossi (my grandmother) married Santo "Sam" Frazzini who is a brother to Giroloma Frazzini Sozio Buzzelli. So, this makes Sam Frazzini not only Augustine's step-uncle but also a brother-in-law by marriage. NOW Amico "John" Buzzelli & Rosa Bacci's son Rudy married Elaine DeSanzo.  Rudy and Elaine had two children
as far as I can tell, Lorre and Carole. I have not been able to determine the parents of Elaine DeSanzo to determine if she and Dorothy DeSanzo Sozio are related. I have misplaced my notes from last weekend... But, if I remember correctly I did notice that in the census Dorothy's family is listed as Derenzo.  Also, the death notice listed her parents as Charles DeSanzo and Dorothy Desmond.  I found a WV marriage record of a Dorothy Desmonie and, I think it was Harold? Joseph J. Buzzelli, 92, of Franklin Twp., Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver following a lengthy illness.

Born August 29, 1924 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late John and Girloma Frazzini Buzzelli. He was married to Mary Ann Pasquarelli Buzzelli who passed away on August 26, 2013.

Joe retired from J & L Steel in Aliquippa. Following his retirement, he was well known as recently as two years ago as a handyman. He was a Veteran of the Army, serving in the European Theatre during WWII. Joe was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and the SOI Club. He enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach for the winters. His most cherished time was spent with family.

Survivors include a son, Randy (Barbara) Buzzelli of Niantic, Connecticut; a daughter, Dona (Bill) Jamison of Wampum; sister, Ann Tillia of Darlington.; three grandchildren, Joseph (Nicole) Buzzelli, Karla (Clay) Wilbanks, Kyle (Hannah) Jamison; and six great grandchildren; Victoria, Alex, and Karmella Buzzelli, Brooke and Shane Wilbanks, and River Jamison.

In addition to his wife, Joe was preceded in death by three brothers, Adam Sozio, Rudy Buzzelli, and Orie Buzzelli; and four sisters, Augostine “Augie” Antinozzi, Flora Mariani, Rose Vitto, and Grace Conglose.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 3 from 4 to 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. A Blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Father Mark Thomas officiating. Private entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Mausoleum. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Good Samaritan Hospice.
