Helen (Bea Branchik) DiVecchio, age 90, of Stowe Township, passed away on January 6, 2021, the Feast of the Epiphany. She fought a valiant, albeit short, battle against the COVID-19 virus. Helen was born on May 30, 1930, in McKees Rocks, PA, to Michael and Anna Branchik, and along with her 3 brothers (Bill, Ed, and Joe) and sister (Liz), was raised in “The Bottoms” neighborhood. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Charles DiVecchio; sons Pat DiVecchio and Michael (Deb) DiVecchio; daughters Lisa DiVecchio and Beth (Michael) Berrigan; grandchildren Stephen (Lacey) Berrigan, Cara Berrigan, Luc DiVecchio, and great-granddaughter Judy Berrigan; sister-in-law Helen (DiVecchio) Vinci; and many much-loved nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Friday, January 22, at St. Mary's Church, Arch Angel Gabriel Parish, McKees Rocks, PA. Interment to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

OGDEN - Amelia Theresa Laucirica Riche, 89, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2012, while being attended by her caring husband Tom. Amelia was born on April 2, 1922, the daughter of Julia and Joseph Laucirica, both of Ybaranguelua, Spain. Amelia’s parents were both members of the original Basque community in Ogden, Utah. Amelia took pleasure in recounting stories of her heritage and she had a great recall of historical details and familial interconnections. Amelia was the last survivor in her family of origin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Bengoachea, Ogden, Utah; her brother Fred Laucirica, Ogden, Utah; her stepsister, Cecilia Colonya, San Francisco, California; and her stepbrothers, Julian Laucirica, Ogden, Utah; Pepe Laucirica, Boise, Idaho; and John Laucirica, Ogden, Utah. Amelia was also preceded in death by several very good friends and by her beloved cousins Blanche, Dolores, and John Jr. Ylencheta from Manila, Utah.

Amelia had a lengthy secretarial career, first as a stenographer working at railroad offices in the Ogden Union Station, and then for over 20 years Amelia was employed by the US Forest Service. She retired in 1987 after working as a secretary for various directors of the Intermountain Regional Forest Service in Ogden. Amelia enjoyed the craft of words, the organization of details, the challenge of her career, and she always pursued her work with pride for a job well done.

Amelia is survived by her loving husband, Thomas D. Riche whom she married in Ogden, Utah at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in 1947, and by their five children; Julie Young, Santa Barbara, California; Michael Riche, Mountain View, California; Thomas Riche, Nantucket, Massachusetts; Sam Riche, West Palm Beach, Florida; and Martin Riche, Ogden, Utah. Amelia is also survived by three granddaughters, two grandsons, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a sister-in-law, Jean Laucirica, Ogden, Utah.

Many will remember “Mamie” for her absolute love of gaming, from the ladies’ Friday night card games and weekly church bingo, to anxiously awaited trips to Wendover to play the slots and 21. Mom loved to win, as attested to by anyone near her when she hit a jackpot, but more than that she loved the aura of fellow gamers and good-natured play. Mom’s games, along with her methodical Scrabble and crossword puzzle approach, revealed her characteristic focus and quick mind.

Mom left this world content with her life. Nothing meant as much to her as her family and her home. We will remember you, Mom, sitting at the kitchen table laughing as only you could.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th Street. Friends may visit family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Special thanks are given to the hospice workers from Alpine who cared for Amelia so lovingly, and Amelia’s trusted doctors, Dr. Reis, Dr. Lewis, and Dr. Nadia Wayment.

Nick Mancini, 87, formerly of Hopewell Twp., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 in Hanover House, Massillon, OH.

Born Feb. 12, 1925 in West Aliquippa, he was a son of the late Bartolomeo and Mary Mancini. Mr. Mancini was a retired employee of the seamless tube department of LTV Steel in Aliquippa with 40 years of service and was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II from 1943-1946. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Hopewell Twp., life member of Bucktails Sportsman’s Club, Beaver Valley Rifle and Pistol Team and life member of Canton-McKinnley Gun Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Anne (Elaschat) Mancini, on June 10, 2012; his son, Robert ‘Doc’ Mancini, and four brothers, Carmen, William, Anthony and Dominic Mancini.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James and Penny Mancini of Massillon, OH; two grandchildren, Deana L. Black and Nicholas A. Mancini; three great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Ryan and Madison, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa, PA 15001, http://www.tatalovichfuneralhome.com, where a service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Hopewell Twp., with Father Howard Campbell, his pastor, officiating.

Private interment will take place in SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Cemetery, Economy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nicks’ name to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2270 Brodhead Rd., Aliquippa, PA 15001.

His daughter is Mary Louise Cameron and Hugh Cameron Jr. or we called him Baby Hugh. Hugh Sr. was our mother's (Isabel Deshler Weichel) uncle and was born Hugh Deshler, and for some unknown reason, changed his last name to Cameron before he arrived in Silver Peak.

My sister and I just visited Uncle Hugh's grave site in Silver Peak, which you can see online. I am attaching a photo (1926 Mary and Hugh Jr (Baby) Cameron, Silver Peak, NV.tif) of Mary and Baby Hugh as children in 1926 in Silver Peak (they are the 2 on the far right).
