Emma W. Arcangeli, 90, passed away on March 4, 2004, in Raton. She was born on Nov. 18, 1913, in Dawson, N.M.
Emma worked for Phelps Dodge Corporation for more than 25 years, served as Colfax County Clerk for two terms and was an accountant for MCMC until her retirement in 1979. She was appointed to the first New Mexico Commission on the Status of Women and loved office work, politics and her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 55 years, Tony Arcangeli, and one son, Anthony Arcangeli.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Alice Manfredi and husband Roy of Raton, three grandchildren: Gina Manfredi and Angelina Manfredi of Albuquerque and Anthony Manfredi of Ruidoso, one sister, Ida Idomir of California, sisters-in-law Mary Arcangeli of Raton, Rosie Codlin and husband Robert of Maxwell, Jean Arcangeli of Texas, brothers-in-law Paul Yaksich of Raton and Bill Fike of Illinois. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The Most Holy Rosary will be on Saturday, March 6, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The Resurrection Mass will be on Saturday, March 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Father George Silva will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
