Louis J. Mastellino

Hopewell Township - Louis J. Mastellino, 88, of Hopewell Township was reunited with the love of his life, Frances. He passed away July 31, 2021 at his daughter's home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 30, 1933 in Logstown and was the son of the late Vincent and Lucia (Rivetti) Mastellino. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances, and two brothers, Tony and Patsy.

Louis played the saxophone and clarinet in his own band, "Lou Masters and his Orchestra". He served in the U.S. Army and played in the Army Band from 1953-1955 stationed in Puerto Rico. After his discharge, Louis worked in the Tin Mill at J&L Steelworks and retired after 31 years of service.

Louis is survived by his daughters, LuAnn (Kevin) Reed and Lori (Lou) August; his cherished grandchildren: Rico Mastellino, Kayla (Scott) Alaksin, Kelly (Anthony) Harb, Cassandra (Danny) August and Lindsey August; two great grandchildren: Ariana Mastellino and Jenna Alaksin; five loving sisters: Mary Taormina, Fannie (Jim) Showrank, Jeannie (Guido) Politano, Lucy Coladonato, Janet (Don) Anderson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louis was a kind and gentle man who touched us all in a special way. Our hearts are broken, but we are comforted in knowing he is once again dancing in the arms of his other half.

A private service was held at Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa. Entombment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
