Mary P. Tycz SALT LAKE CITY - Mary Perfetto Taccogno Tycz, 91, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at the St. Joseph Villa. She was born June 25, 1913, in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Domenico and Giovanni Palumbo Perfetto. She married Vito Taccogno on Nov. 30, 1933, in Ogden. He died on June 25, 1948. She then married Laddie J. Tycz on Oct. 30, 1964, in Elko, Nev. He died on May 24, 1987. Mary was educated in Ogden and Elko, Nevada and attended Henagers Business College. She had worked for Sears, Hill AFB, and Defense Depot of Ogden, retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Promoters of the Sacred Heart, and St. Joseph's Church Senior Citizens. She also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, 2472 and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees #320. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Leonard A. (Susan) Taccogno, Salt Lake City, and Mary Jane (Richard) Pierce, Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildre n. She was preceded in death by one brother and one half-brother, Salvatore Perfetto and Tony Palumbo. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandchildren. Funeral mass will be held Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at 11 am in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Friends may call at the Larkin & Sons Mortuary Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment in the Washington Heights Memorial Park. Geraldine Thompson, 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. She was born in Ogden, Utah on December 2, 1937 to Salvator and Ruth Thompson Perfetto. She grew up and lived in Washington Terrace most of her life. She graduated from Weber High School.
She married Darrold W. Thompson on June 21, 1958 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Geraldine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Her greatest joy was being with her family and crocheting. She was an avid reader of books.
Geraldine is survived by her loving husband, Darrold W. Thompson, Washington Terrace; sons, Bart W. Thompson, Layton; Philip and Denise Thompson, Ogden; and Dan and Suzanne Thompson, South Ogden; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother, Tom and Bobbie Perfetto, Washington Terrace; and sister, Cheryl Durrant, Washington Terrace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvator and Ruth Perfetto; and one great-grandson.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity.
