A World War II veteran, he retired from U.S. Steel American Bridge Division, Kopp Glass and Giant Eagle. At SS. Simon and Jude he also was an usher and former council and diocesan president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (Sevick) Mariani; a daughter, Mary Jo Bondi; and a brother, G. Edmond Mariani. Funeral Mass was offered Feb. 7 in SS. Simon
