Possible: 1893 29 May EI arrival, 16y, going to New York. Travelled with Onorato Labate and Sabatino Colaianni.

Possible: 1900 6 Jul EI arrival, 25y (1875), going to brother-in-law Antonio Frazzini, Erie, PA. Not previously in the US. A little confusing. Seems to be travelling with brother, Domenico, both had passage paid for by brother-in-law, Antonio Frazzini. This Pasquale had a father named Domenico and therefore could not have a brother named Domenico.

Hi Mark,
I found your web page on RootsWeb.com and have been thrilled with the new information I have found. My cousin has been doing genealogy work for 20-25 years and she had not been able to find Giovanni diGiacomo's wife or parents. It was wonderful to find that he and Chiara Ricci had a son named Pietro Antonio diGiacomo. (He is my great-grandfather).
The LDS Church records are a wonderful source of information and I live in Utah. They are difficult to read. I was wondering if you have found a marriage record on Chiara and Giovanni. I also went through a lot of records trying to see if they had any other children. I did find that they had a son in 1863 that was named Pietro and then the record you talk about in 1865 they had another son named Pietro. I'm assuming the first son died, and then they had the next son in 1865.
Thank you so much for all of the information and pictures from San Pietro Avellana. I hope in the next few years to make a trip to Italy with my husband. It looks like a beautiful place. I have alot of relatives on the Frazzini (Frazzino) line since Pietro was married to Asterina. My grandfather, Ezachio "Jack" diGiacomo was in an orphanage in Salt Lake City. They did stay there and then he remarried Filomena diCapita.

email from Rey Kyle, Jul 2014, says this: "Nora Ciarrocchi who was raised by my Grandmother so we call her Aunt Nora. Her Mother died who was my Grandmother's sister." (Mark's note: Esterina Frazzini diGiacomo, her mother, died in 1903.)

So this is probably Nora Ciarrocchi which would explain why she does not appear in the 1910 census with the DeSanzo family - she was in UT..

Ciarrocchi is a married name. Her obituary, published 31 May 1980 show her husband as Patrick M. Ciarrocchi. Her name is listed as Leanora (Nora) C. Ciarrocchi. Then his obituary published 4 Jun 1973, lists his wife as Nora diGiacamo.

"My father, Robert, was born in 1921. His brother and sisters adopted the spelling "Carolina" for the surname while attending school in Newcastle, PA. (Birth certificate may have issued in the name "Carlino". I have never seen it.)"
