Immigration: : 14 Jun 1899
Film 1448675 Nati 1878 #31.
1899 Jun 14 EI arrival, 20y, travelled with husband Antonio Frezza. Going to Erie, PA (note - the final destination looks like Iersy but I'm pretty sure the Italian who heard Erie, wrote down what they heard). Travelled with brother, Giuseppe Frazzini, 19y (1880).
Later they lived in Homewood, PA.

1918 PA DC, 39y 6m, listed as Mrs. Elvera Fritz. Reported by Tony Fritz.

email from great-granddaughter, Marjorie Deangelis, Sep 2018: "Hi, Mark. I came upon your research through Monica Stanford and was wondering if you might help us in our own research.

My great grandmother was Elvira Frazzini, brother of Giuseppe Frazzini, great grandfather of Monica Stanford. I noticed that Monica’s family tree on Ancestry went back a lot further than we had been able to trace ours and when I asked her how she did that, she said she had used your information. I see you have a whole wealth of information!

I don’t know if you can give me some advice. All the info we got from Monica, and also now from you is about my grandmother (Amelia, daughter of Elvira Frazzini)’s side. However we soon came to a blank wall when we have tried to research my grandfather – Joseph (Giuseppe) DeAngelis’s side of the family. My grandfather was born (as far as we know) in San Giovanni Incarico, Provincia di Frosinone in Italy on Nov 10 (or 11th), 1895. He came to the U.S. when he was 16 years old (in 1911). His father had come back and forth to the U.S.A. several times during his lifetime, working and then returning to Italy. He at last returned to Italy but sent my grandfather when he was 16. We do not know the name of the sponsor, though. We believe his father was called Marco DeAngelis and mother Angela (last name unsure) but we have been unable to trace Marco in San Giovanni Incarico, find my grandfather’s birth record or any trace of him
there. Is there any advice you can give us? We are stuck!"

Kills grandchild and himself PHILADELPHIA. Paul Pollice, 72, walked into his candy and cigar store, shot his 14-year-old granddaughter, Theresa Pollice, to death, and then took his own life a few minutes later with the same weapon. The girl’s mother said Pollice had been mentally ill and had been brooding over the death of his wife.

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 4. Paul Pollice, 74-year-old eccentric, today shot and fatally wounded his 14-year-old granddaughter, Theresa, while she was scrubbing the kitchen floor of their north Philadelphia home and then put a bullet into his head, police reported. Detectives said the aged man, mentally deranged since his wife's death two years ago, had been muttering recently that "something big is going to happen." His daughter-in-law, Mrs. Caesar Pollice, and his son, with whom he lived, paid little attention. This morning the elder Pollice took advantage of his son's absence on a shopping trip and came downstairs with a 38 caliber pistol in his hand. He took aim, detectives said, and put one bullet into the kneeling granddaughter's chest and one in her neck. Just then the child's mother ran in from the grocery store the Pollices operate in the front room and screamed at the sight. Pollice ran upstairs and killed himself instantly with one shot. Theresa died shortly after being admitted to Episcopal Hospital. Police said the mother's agonized cries probably saved the lives of several other of her children who apparently were prospective victims of the maddened grandfather.

In S.P.A. she took care of her elderly parents Sabatino (who had returned from the US) & Donata. She was then exilled from her native town, during the German destruction of WWII. Then, immigrated to Argentina, Dec 12, 1948 to live with her husband Alberto Ferri in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 40 yrs. later she writes this letter.

[Lucia Morelli letter to nephew Michael Morreli]
Olivos (Olivos, Buenos Aries) July 16, 1988. . .

"I would think you know our history, to explain it all would be a great romantic story. I have only known Paolo (Paul) and Lucia Morelli, that were our grandparents, of course. I have known my dad Sabatino, but not my mother (???) (Donata), they have died at 70 years of age (??). It hurts, never to be able to see my dead Father, and your Aunt Diletta that is so far away (for) anymore. After (so) many years I live alone. I was with my parents until their death. My mother (Donata) died in February of 1943. In November (of 1943), our village was destroyed by the ugly war. Everyone's house and goods were destroyed. I was left alone. My son (Lorenzo) was captured prisoner in Germany, and I never heard from (him) for 2 years. Thanks to God, he was saved and returned. . .

[The translator writes: when her son came home (from Germany) she was staying in the region of Puglie, because she was a refugee. When she was in Puglie, her husband must have been in Argentina for 20 years, and (besides the fact, they had) not letters for a few years during the war]

After a long time he (my husband, Alberto Ferri) writes," that he was glad to hear we were alive" (and that) He wanted us to come to him." In 6 months time we had our papers to go (to Argentina). When we arrived in Argentina we could not find a house, so we paid rent, and went to work. After a lot of sacrifice we bought a piece of ground and then we built our home. After 11 years of our arrival (in Argentina) my husband died. After that, my life seems like Calvary. I only thank God my son and his wife is good to me. They take good care (of me) and nothing is wanting or lacking, and everyone likes me. And I thank God, your father (Amico) and (your) Aunt Diletta gave me some help when I had nothing. I thank and pray to God, that she is the 'glory of God'.

I never met your Dad (Amico) because he left (Italy) when I was only 2 (years). And now my thoughts are always with you, (that are) so far away. . . .

Claudia . . . . . my daughter(?) Genero, my son Lorenzo send their affection. Send greetings to my daughter-in-law (nieces??) and their children. . . .

I send love to your wife (Lucy),

Your Aunt Lucia"

*********************************************************************

"Lucia died on January 30th . . . she had to be taken to the hospital again . . . This was finally the best for her, she was already suffering a lot - She is surely in peace now . . . Love to you all, Claudia" (letter to Mike Morrelli, Jr, of Ogden Utah, dated Feb. 18th 1992)"
