email from herself, Virginia Fuller, Sep 2007: "Hi Mark, I was surfing the web and came across the family tree of the DiVecchio families. My fathers family was DiVecchio, from Old Forge,Pa. My grandfathers name was Charles(americanized, I believe) I know he came to America from Abruzze, he was killed in 1949. He was married to Theresa Rivello also of Italy.They had one son Francis Nicholas, and four daughters, Rose(Onufry),Elizabeth(Czyja)Grace(Lombardi)and AnnMarie(Calarusso). I don't know if you have researched this but I thought I would tell you. Thank you,Just a little note, when my dad was born in the Scranton area, a polish doctor delivered him, he could speak very little english, and my grandparents who were only here a short while could not speak english very well either. On the birth certificate, the doctor. wrote Belveg, when they were trying to say DelVeccio(when they pronounced their name the always left out the io sound..My father was baptized a DiVecchio,but carried the name Belveg til he died.
I live about 70 miles from Old Forge, my grandfather and his parents are buried there. I will go and check out their names on the tombstones soon.
