My parents took our family there to visit routinely during my childhood. Amico met Luigi Mancini, Angiolina’s father who was a tailor, when he visited his family and friends from Giulianova in the late 1800’s-early 1900’s. This is how the marriage of Michele and Angiolina was arranged initially and Michele returned in 1921 to be married in San Pietro e Paolo in SPA and also recorded in Giulianova at the municipio. Marriage certificates exist from both locales verifying this fact. Amico was also known as “Amos” and they had two children, Natalie and Alvin."

Felice diGiovine (I7034) [Male] b. 9 Apr 1893 Sant'Eufemia a Maiella, Chieti, Italy - d. 25 Jun 1960 Watertown, Middlesex, MA
Immigration: : 28 Mar 1920
Naturalization: : 19 May 1930
email from great-granddaughter, Julie diGiovine, Jan 2009: "I thought you would be interested by this little bit of information that my uncle wrote: "My grandfather Felice DiGiovine was born in Sant'Eufemia April 09, 1893. He emmigrated to the United States after serving in the Italian Army in WWI. His wife Maria Nicole (Zacagninni) was also from Santa Eufemia. They had three sons, Anthony, Salvatore (my Dad) and Fiore.""

Felice, arrived at Ellis Island on 28 Mar 1920. He was going to his cousin, Tornato Ricci at 105 Pleasant St in Watertown. He had been previously in the US from 1910 to 1913. He was 26 years old and listed his father, Salvatore, in Sant'Eufemia. Doing the math shows he was born about 1894.

He was naturalized on 19 May 1930. Living at 91 Fayette St in Watertown. He was 37 years old

He appears in the 1930 census in Watertown, 91 Fayette St., 37 years old, working as a bootmaker in a shoe factory. He immigrated in 1920. He was first married at 28y. Listed with him are wife, Mary, 32y, immigrated in 1921, first married at 23y. Three children all born in MA, Tony, 8y, Sally, 7y and Flora, 3y (is this correct? The census clearly shows one son and two daughters - but I think Salvatore and Fiore were confused in the translation.....).

He registered for the WWII draft (about 1942) from 91 Fayette St, Watertown. He was 49 years old and shows his DOB as 9 Apr 1893. Shows place of birth as Sant'Eufemia. Listed as contact person is Mrs Maria DiGiovine. He worked for the Hood Rubber Company in Watertown.

1960 06 26 obituary in the Boston Globe, died 25 Jun. Husband of Maria Zaccagnini, father of Anthony, Salvatore adnd Fiore.
