James A. Colian passed away Nov. 3, 2005, in Pueblo. Jim was born Feb. 7, 1938, to James and Julia Mauro Colian Prutch. He was a 1956 graduate of Pueblo County High School, and a wonderful musician for the better part of his life. He was the "Master of the Game" of car sales, having been employed as a salesman for many years at Fortino Jackson Chevrolet and most recently at Vidmar Motors. He enjoyed his family, watching the Denver Broncos on his big screen TV, his trips to Las Vegas and his Oreos. Jim loved everyone and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Mark Alan Colian, David Scott Moore; son-in-law, Rawn Swarbrick; sisters, Ravelle Cain and Esther Thomas; brothers-in-law, Bill Cain and Tony Thomas. His survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, JoAnn Colian; daughters, Brenda (Greg) Smith, Terry Swarbrick, Kimberly (Dan) Huerta, Leslie (Joe) Reeves, Carol (Keith) Avery and Robin Thomas; his grandchildren, Lacey (Matt) Goodrich, Shawna Knabe, Tyler, Chelsea, Sophia Swarbrick, Kristen and Stephanie Mulay, Megan Huerta, Alex and Ashley Avery, Anthony Reeves, Lee, Brigette, Brandy and Jessica Smith, RJ Spencer, and Bayli Thomas; his great-grandchildren, Xandra Armijo and Mia Mulay, who is due in January of 2006; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Garnette (Keener) Ricci, our angel, has left her earthly body to be with the Lord, her husband of nearly 70 years, Louis Nello Ricci, and those who have passed before her on Sunday, December 23, 2012.
She was born July 21, 1924 in New Brighton and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Minnie (Mooney) Keener. She was a member of Christ the Divine Teacher Church and a former employee of Bricker's Restaurant, Isaly's Dairy, Economy Supermarket, and Elmcrest Nursing Home.
Garnette dedicated her life to her family who feel truly blessed to have had her in their lives. Friends and family were always warmly received into her home and no one ever left with empty hands or an empty stomach. Caring and thoughtful, beautiful and a little bit ornery, her special grace and amazing personality will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry 'Eric', Glen, Earl, and Alan 'Shag' Keener, and two sisters, Mary Keener and Irene Mittica.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Louis M. and Leona M. Ricci of St. Augustine, FL; L. Jeanne and Dr. Carl F. Robertson of Evans City, PA, and Robert T. and Debra L. Friends will be received Friday from noon to 8 p.m. in the LUTTON CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 117 Blackhawk Road., www.luttonfuneralhome.com, where prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Christ the Divine Teacher Church. Father James Farnan will officiate.
Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
The family requests contributions be made in Garnette's name to the Beaver County Humane Society or Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Beaver County.
The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Lakeview Personal Care Home and Gateway Hospice for providing such wonderful care to their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
