1910 census, Tabasco, Los Animas, CO. 27y. with wife and two children.
email from Dave DiNardo, Aug 2014: "Aunt Helen married my uncle John. My uncle John was brother to my Dad, Manuel. The connection to Colorado is actually more interesting than you might think and is as follows. My great grandfather, Antonio Martucci, lived in San Francisco where my grandmother, Mary A. Martucci, was born in 1907. His wife, Rosaria Fullo, died. So he left to go back to Italy to find another wife. But he did not take his children with him. He left them at an orphanage (probably Catholic) in Colorado. This was in Trinidad (Aha!), Colorado. He must have been gone a long time. He came back and took them to Pittsburgh in Hazelwood but my grandmother remembers the cobble stone streets in that Colorado town.
Anyway, the Mazzocca's were friends somehow. I think they might have been my Dad's God parents. Now that my Dad and his brothers have all died, I can't confirm these things. I do not know the last name of Antonio Martucci's new wife. But it seems they did not move there for work in the mines but rather for the orphanage and a train connection possibly."
email from Dave diNardo, Apr 2015: "Subject: Not seen before photo of GGF. Last Christmas I took a few hours to type up a bunch of stuff on and attach ancestral trees and photos and stuff. Nobody felt like they could look through all that stuff. So maybe once in a while I send a single item you guys get a kick out of. Thus, attached is a photo of a husband and wife. Only one of them is our ancestor. The man in the picture is Grandma Martucci’s father. I’ll reference this to myself so you can figure out how related to yourself…This guy is my Dad’s mom’s Dad; my great grandfather. My Dad’s (Manuel DiNardo) Mom’s (Mary Martucci) Dad (Antonio Martucci). His name was Antonio Martucci.
Antonio Martucci’s first wife (my grandmother, Rosaria Fullo) died many years ago in San Francisco. Thus, Antonio Martucci dropped his children off in Colorado (Including our grandmother) after Rosaria Fullo’s death to travel back to Italy to find another wife. By the way, a friend of mine found documents of the orphanage in Colorado. It was called “Queen of Heaven”.
The homely woman he married in the photo is his second wife. What is crazy interesting is that she is from Caramanico. Caramanico is the only town that you could probably walk to within a reasonable amount of time from Sant’Eufemia a Maiella (SEAM). An historical reading about SEAM indicated that they didn’t liked to marry the people from Caramanico because they felt their blood lines to be better in SEAM. When I asked the ladies who took care of the church in SEAM about that (through my mother-in-law interpreter), they laughed. They said that was because they felt the women in Caramanico were ugly. Anyway, I have a feeling that our great grandfather married this woman in an arranged situation sight unseen. What is also weird about it, is that Antonio Martucci is not from Caramanico or SEAM but our grandfather, Alphonso DiNardo is from SEAM. Again that is kind of funny because those two guys didn’t care much for each other.
Also, I found out something else pretty interesting. Based upon my DNA testing, I have suspected for about two years now that Antonio Martucci and Rosaria Fullo were both from Ginestra Degli Schiavoni Benevento in Campania. The reason for that is, I have two DNA matches with people who also have Martucci’s in their family tree and those Martucci’s are from Ginestra Degli Schiavoni Benevento. I couldn’t see any other path to relation with those people, so it is probably very likely. However, that makes sense for two other reasons as well. The first is that I found new documents that show a guy named Antonio Martucci traveling from both Ginestra Degli Schiavoni Benevento as well as Caramanico in 1914. That is in conjunction with the fact that Antonio Martucci and his new wife had their first child in America in 1915 after coming back from Italy in 1914. The other reason is that that Grandma said her parents were from Naples. Ginestra Degli Schiavoni Benevento is in the Campania province just like Naples is. I am finding out that Italian people often say they are from whatever big city or “County” is nearby rather than the “itty bitty” town they are really from. It’s like someone from Belle Vernon telling a foreigner they are from Pittsburgh for convenience of explanation. It is the exact same way that our other grandmother told me she was from Catanzaro when in reality she is factually from a very tiny town near that called Nocera Terinese of Catanzaro in Calabria.
Hope you guys appreciate this archaeological dig."
email from Dave DiNardo, Jan 2016. He send photo of Antonio Martucci and his second wife, Angelina Mazzacco (from Caramanico). Also copy of Naturalization papers - 1904 Trinidad, CO.

Dawson Graphical Tree Part 2
email from Marilou Moschetti, Sep 2004: "Several years ago we made the same trip to Dawson, and took the exact pictures. We were stunned to see how deteriorated the tumbstone had become, and saddened, too, because what do we do about it? Tom's auntie LeDora Frazzini Smaller is now 94 years old. Tom's mother, Ernastina Frazzini Moschetti passed away in 1999 at age 86. We know the whole story about Angelo, too. Do you? We have stories, pictures of the Dawson area from the picnics they held yearly. They even put out a sort of history of the coal town, which we have.
You have done your homework thoroughly, and we appreciate it, truly! I'm forwarding this to Tom's email at San Jose State University, where he canenjoy a leisurly look at the information. I'm saving it here permanently at home, and will print pages, too.
Carmen Frazzini died of pnemonia at age 33 years old. (not a mining accident). Aunt Dora says Maria Carlini Frazzini was left to cope with Angelo, Ledora, and Erna in Dawson. She took in 8 boarders, who paid a small amount for rent. They slept bunk style in 2 bedrooms at the coal camp. The children were left scraps of food when the men finished eating. Erna was a baby. Maria married Joseph Cinea, and had two more children Nick and Lucile. Both are now in their 80's now. We have pictures of Carmen. He immigrated about 1899 the first time, coming through Ellis Island. He returned to Italy to get Maria, when Aldo was 5 years old, and she was pregnant with LeDora. There is of course more, but too lengthy to tell in this email. We think there was a baby conceived in Italy before Aldo, who died. (Maria had a total of 12 babies, but only 5 lived.)"
email from Marilou Moschetti, Sep 2004: "Mark, you're amazing, and we can't tell you how much we appreciate your dedication to the Frazzini/Carlini, etc. family decendents. You may already know that Shenay Marie Moschetti Lorente is our daugther. (Carmine's great grandaughter)
We talked to LeDorina Josephina Frazzini Smaller, ( my husbands aunt) age 94 today, and she told us that she didn't think her father Carmine Frazzini had any brothers or sisters. LeDora wrote down what her mother told her about the family, and they had no records except the baptism record of her mother, and a copy of the appidavid of marriage, signed by Prospero Frazzini on his bank stationary in Denver. We have made copies, and those are the only records that have turned up from Italy for us.
Most of the older Italian women had such a tremendously difficult and hard life, they just didn't want to talk about the past. That seems to be the case for our Frazzini branch. Maria must have been so sad about Carmine's death, she just erased it from her life by not talking about it at all from there after. And certainly not in front of Guarrino Cinea, her 2nd husband.
We did get more details about the family being "drummed out" of Dawson, and that Pearl DuPont Frazzini was never charged for any crime after shooting Angelo. Aunt Dora was 14 years old when they left Dawson, and remembers actually going to Trinidad, NM and waiting in the court house while Maria Carlini and Jim Cinea argued with lawyers about the case. They were too poor to afford their own attorney. The hearing had all the makings of a fraud case, because DuPonts were holding all the power over the uneducated Frazzini/Cinea group. After the shooting, Jim Cinea was given jobs that were not only more dangerous, but the children were also separated out at school. Maria Carlini got so ill from the incident, LeDora had to quit school and stay home to take care of her, her sister Erna (my mother-in-law), age 12, Dominic Cinea age 8, and Lucile Cinea age 4. Shortly after they moved to Cañon City, CO."
1904 17 Oct - possible - Naturalized at Trinidad, CO.
1912 NM DC, 31y, died of pneumonia, caucasian, coal-miner.
Carmine Frazzini and Maria Carlini were godparents to several Fraini children. I had found they were godparents to: 1) Eduardo Fraini, baptised 2 May 1909 (Springer, NM), 2) Leonardo Alberto Fraino, baptised 3 Oct 1910 (Springer, NM), 3) Stella Fraino, baptised 28 Feb 1914 (Maria only was godmother, as Carmine was dead, godfather was Augustino Frazzini (Agustino Girolamo "James" Frazzini husband of Esterina Quaranta "Forty").)
