FHL US/CAN Book 976.8484 H2m "Jessie Bryant was a Revolutionary soldier in Virginia. He signed an oath dated 30 Apr 1778, in Virginia. Allen kept the certificate in the family. His son, C.W. Bryant had the oath notarized by a judge in Franklin, KY, as being an original signed oath. It is now located at the Historical Society in Simpson County, KY. Jessie's children were listed in his son's will. Edmund F. Bryant's will in 1841 in Anderson Country, KY. His siblings were, Eli, Jesse, George, Rhoadhaven, the heirs of David, Allen, Polly, Nancy, Sally (Keeling), Elizabeth (Gilly) and Martha Maram (Stewart)."

The C.W. Bryant is Jesse's grandson. That is, Charles Washington Bryant.

From his obit: 63 years old. Died from a 20 foot fall, near Memphis, MO. He was working on a construction project in Scotland County when he fell 20 feet, suffering broken ribs which punctured a lung, a broken arm and a head injury. He was taken to the Laughlin Hospital at Kirksville where he was in a semi-conscious condition until his death Wednesday at 8:15 PM. Mr Clark was born here Nevember 14, 1873, the son of George and nancy Clark. He is survived by one son, Walter R. Clock of the home at 622 Hisey Street here. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
The obituary clipping is undated but article on reverse side indicates 1936.
